The piece traces where Voxelis came from — founded from inside the helicopter industry by CEO Colin O’Neill, a second-generation commercial pilot, and spun out of Transport Canada-approved manufacturer Taeron Systems — and what makes VoxVision different from traditional high-end EO/IR payloads: a compact seven-inch gimbal weighing 15 pounds, removable with two quick pins, and built for mass deployment at low cost rather than premium surveillance optics.

The story digs into what sets the system apart: onboard processing and autonomous detection. VoxVision can detect a fire line, map it, and transmit it back to a fire command center in real time — without the crew having to operate the sensor — so intelligence gathering runs as an automated layer alongside suppression work.

Contour Helicopters, the first operator to bring VoxVision into service, has orders for five units — four AStars and a Black Hawk outfitted for the fire season — and the article confirms Custom Helicopters and South Australia’s Aerotech Group in the ECAP ecosystem.
